Inspired by a trip to Nashville, the EP reflects the brothers’ continued evolution both personally and artistically. It showcases the harmony-rich storytelling fans know and love, while introducing new textures, production elements, and a broader musical palette. “What you hear on this record is very much rooted in who we are, but also explores some different directions we haven’t fully leaned into before,” shares Ty Hunter. “These songs are meant to lift your spirits and keep your day moving forward, and for those who’ve been with us since the start, tracks like ‘Golden Rules’ and ‘Homegrown Night’ will feel like coming home.”
Leading the EP is the previously released title track “All Kinds of Country” featuring Lathan Warlick, which set the tone with its inclusive message and cross-genre energy, celebrating the many ways people experience and connect to country music. Together, the six tracks trace the heart of the Hunter Brothers’ world: the fiddle-driven spark of “Keep On Truckin’,” the uplifting collaboration “Better Days” with Shantaia, the nostalgic familiarity of “Golden Rules” and “Homegrown Night,” and the harmony-rich reimagining of “I Want You Back” — all threaded by themes of family, roots, and keeping joy at the centre.
Today’s focus track, “Keep On Truckin’,” brings that spirit into a lively, fiddle-charged anthem rooted in brotherhood, resilience, and the Hunter family’s small-town upbringing. Co-written during a Nashville writing session with Dutch producer Femke, the song sparked an instant creative connection. “I had written with Femke on a previous trip and was captivated by her ability to bring such beauty to melody and lyric,” shares Ty Hunter. “It felt like the collaboration that needed to happen with my brothers, and with Femke being from Holland, it gave us the chance to connect our story to something people everywhere could latch onto and sing along with.”
A key thread in the song is a piece of advice their dad instilled early on: “the world will beat up on you enough, you don’t need to beat up on each other.” Ty continues, “We’d tried to write a song about being brothers before, and it never quite landed. But this one finally threaded everything together. ‘Truckin’’ is a musical celebration of our roots, a playful reminder to keep moving forward, no matter what life throws at you.” Already a standout on tour, “Keep On Truckin’” has quickly become an audience favourite thanks to its interactive, uplifting energy, a moment fans have been embracing even before hearing the studio version.
The EP release coincides with the second leg of the Homegrown Nights Tour, kicking off tonight in Chatham, ON before continuing across Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Alberta through the end of the month.
